Please introduce yourself.
My name is Naoki Takahashi, and I am the guitarist and vocalist for the band nous. I also work part-time as a musician and as a company employee.
Please tell us what inspired you to start making music.
I started writing songs when I was in junior high school. At first, I was just writing songs to save myself, but I started to think that I might not be the only one who felt the same way, so I started performing at live houses in Shimokitazawa when I was a university student. Since then, my work as an artist has become my life's work.
Tell us about your latest release.
"Sunday After School"
I think this song opened up new horizons in my songwriting career. I was able to incorporate the flavor of UK rock that I have always admired, and include lyrics that are both philosophical and liberating. I think it's a song that combines both introspection and release.
Please tell us about the best place you have traveled to so far.
"London, England"
I have always been instinctively drawn to things with British roots. To find out why, I traveled to London alone last summer. They seemed to live a life that valued culture while respecting each other in a cityscape that still retains history. I realized that I had naturally sensed this from culture and art. I think that Britain has a freedom rooted in culture that is not found in Japan today.

By the way, I've written a travelogue on note, so please read it if you're interested.
What are your future goals?
To remain a musician forever. To be a musician who continues to be accepted by listeners, it takes effort and change. And above all, you need listeners to listen to your music. With that in mind, I want to remain a musician for as long as I live.
