nii (roi bob) — The one album that changed my life: “It’s almost scary to think about who I’d be if I had never listened to this album.”

Please introduce yourself.
I’m nii from roi bob.
In the band, I handle guitar, vocals, and songwriting/composing.
What inspired you to start making music?
I’ve loved music since I was a child and always dreamed of forming a band. Eventually, I found the current members through an online music forum, and that became the start of our serious band activities.

Tell us about your latest release. On April 16, we released a song called “春”.
When I feel the spring air, I often experience a strange mix of happiness and pain — an indescribable emotional stir. This song carries a story filled with those feelings, and we carefully crafted it with a rough, emotional guitar sound alongside delicate piano tones to reflect the characters’ inner states.
It’s a song we’re all deeply attached to, having discussed every detail together. I’d be so happy if you give it lots of listens.

What is the one album that changed your life?
When I first heard this album, I simply thought, “It’s so cute!” — but at the same time, I found Lovely Summer Chan incredibly cool. That moment inspired me to want to create music on my own, and I started learning DTM (desktop music production). My current musical style is thanks to that, and I’m truly grateful I discovered it.
Even now, I sometimes think, “Who would I be if I hadn’t listened to that album back then?” — that’s how much I still love it!
Any upcoming news or messages?
I love all kinds of music, so I want to continue creating songs without being bound by genre and keep building what makes roi bob uniquely “roi bob.”
If you’re even a little curious about us, I’d be thrilled if you came to one of our live shows!
